Intro to World Religions is a college course that covers the fundamentals of a few of the major religions from around the world. In particular this course covered Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Atheism. This course was a great way to learn the basics of these faiths, as well as a brief history of each. By getting the chance to understand these religions I was able to see where my own faith is, and why I believe what I do. Studying these has both challenged and enhanced my faith in ways that I didn't think were possible going into the course.
This is a course that I'd recommend to anyone. I think that it should be taught in a high school setting as I think it would help promote understanding between the different religious traditions that exist, both in the United States, and the world as a whole. I believed that many religious traditions were full of beauty, and this course confirmed that for me. I will use my understanding from this course to try and build bridges to others. Below you will find my signature assignment for the course.
